The Minnesota Building and Construction Trades Council released this statement regarding the passage in the Minnesota House of Representatives of an historic $1.88 billion bonding bill.
“The Minnesota House took an historic step today to bond for $1.88 billion to invest in the state’s infrastructure, but more importantly, they voted to invest in Minnesota’s communities,” said Jessica Looman, Executive Director. “This was a bi-partisan effort to ensure that Minnesota keeps building.”
Building Trades unions, construction contractors, architects, engineers, cities, counties, and many other partners have come together to advocate for the largest bonding bill in Minnesota history. The $1.88 billion bonding bill passed by the Minnesota House will now go to the floor of the Minnesota Senate.
“We appreciate the commitment of Speaker Hortman and the Minnesota House to get this bill done,” said Looman, “and we know that the Minnesota Senate has also worked hard to get a bonding bill to the Governor’s desk. We look forward to their passing this bill tomorrow. More than 10,000 construction jobs depend on it.”
