I am honored to have been chosen to serve on the Governor’s Council on Economic Expansion. The Council, created thru executive order 21-31, brings together business, labor, nonprofit, philanthropic and community organizations whose purpose is to propose ideas that will help re-build Minnesota’s economy in a way that advances equitable economic growth across the entire state.
The Council will first work to identify immediate actions and policy changes that the state can make to help Minnesota’s economy grow at an accelerated pace as we emerge from a pandemic. The second goal for this council is to help develop framework for an economic policy that aims to achieve a more inclusive, equitable and resilient Minnesota moving forward. I truly believe real sustained economic growth comes from leveraging our states biggest asset, our citizens. The council will work diligently to make thoughtful recommendations that will help achieve this goal in a way that benefits everyone, with special consideration being given towards those citizens who are a part of the BIPOC communities and those who reside in greater Minnesota.
I am excited to begin this important work as part of a group that includes some amazing leaders from multiple industries. As a group we are committed to working collaboratively to bring our best ideas to the table, and to ensuring that Minnesota is place that provides economic opportunity for all of us.
